i'll be starting a new series of posts over the next few months of so.. titled 'Homage: to the artists that i dig' 1st of that series is J.Scott Campbell.. my (i guess) 1st real influence. his art got me fully into the world of comics w/ Gen 13, and because of that.. my goal was to reach to his skill level. When i 1st begun drawing, i trie dto emulate his style... but over the years, i've branched and (i think) have developed sumfin for myself. But what i do find amusing is that this piece, or any piece of art that i've drawn Campbell related (Gen13/Danger Girl), the 'Campbell' influence becomes fairly evident.. as usual: ALL ART BY ME well anyway here it is --method-- i drew those 'holo-effects' on a seperate piece of paper. I woulda used a lightbox, but i don't own one. So i used the window. haha.. drawing took a lil' over an hour all up (coz i hadta refer to the comic while drawing their costumes), and flatting i think took the longest... few hours.. next 'homage' piece... Humberto Ramos' Crimson -NOTE- i must tip my hat off to Mr.Campbell and also Mr.Delgado for the awesome work they do on the art of wildsiderz.... it's NOT an easy task, let me tell ya! |
