Alright, day 14 of sketchtavern's draw-a-day February has led me to tribute probably one of my favorite (if not, my absolute favorite) Disney Feature.
1999's Tarzan
How Tarzan was animated blew my mind away. The way they did the jungle background, phenomenal! loved it!
so here's a piece of the lead characters of the film, Tarzan and Jane Porter. I used soft-cel shading for this piece, to emulate the style of the flick.
Surprisingly fitting for this commercially-raped day known as Valentines day.
Available as a 1200X900 wallpaper (Just click Download)
minor edit: *luniara's comment about the two side branches made me re-check them on my other monitor, so this is an update of it, now darkened a tad more (as they should've been from the start)
I remember some commentator track saying that Tarzan's vine-swinging animation was heavily inspired from surfing.

We don't love "because", but "despite".
This is why there is no such thing as perfect. A flawless beauty would be blank without any appeal nor character. Its scars are what defines it and what inspires emotion... from that moment, it becomes art.
epic ending to this movie...cant believe they showed the villain of this movie, being hung...i mean, what a GRAPHIC image...if you had his silhouette of him hanging in the background...that'd been a funny omage to one of the most violent images i've seen in a disney movie = /
There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
